September Newsletter (Cubs)

Welcome Back
Welcome back to a new session of Cubs, we hope you had an enjoyable summer despite the weather! We have 4 Beavers move up to Cubs and one new Cub. Five Cubs are in the process of moving on to Scouts; therefore our numbers remain static at 18.

Subs
The first payment of £20 is now due. At the AGM it was agreed that yearly subs would remain at £60 (a weekly cost of less than £2)

District Hike
The district have organised a Cub Hike Day on Sunday 13th September, at Straiton. It starts at 1030-1630 and we will be based at the McCandlish Hall in the village, this gives us a base in case of wet weather also toilets are available. Parents are welcome to join in if they wish. There will be an event badge produced for the occasion (cost covered by the group)... it will be a few weeks afterwards that it is given to those attending. If your son would like to attend without a parent David or I may be able to offer lifts. Please return the tear off strip and return by next week if you plan on attending.

Uniforms
Uniforms (sweatshirt and neckie) can be bought in the schoolwear shop in Troon. If anyone has any difficulty sourcing these please let us know and we can arrange to get them from the Scout shop in Glasgow.

Helpers
A big thank you to Dermot who has kindly agreed to continue as helper, despite his son moving on to Scouts. Two Explorers and a Scout will also be helping out (Stewart, Richard, and Calum)
